An insightful glance into a life of one of those ordinary Canadians every one alludes to. A little, Canada, a little of the world and alot of sports in one little blog designed specifically to get some of my stress out into the open.

Chili Bowl-timmie mac

Have you heard of Tim McCreadie. Most people haven't although he might be the closest thing to Tony Stewart around these days, it doesn't appear anyone is watching. McCreadie, who's dad Barefoot Bob is a DIRT Modified racing legend won what most real race fans consider to be the toughest race in the world to win, the Chili Bowl over the weekend.

The Chili bowl is in January when just about every race driver in the world is available for duty. It attracts the very best from all different sectors kinser, kahne, stewart, lasoski, just to start. You win this one that attracts more than 200 entries you've accomplished something.

McCreadie in just his second time in a midget, and second appearance period at the chili bowl won it. So lets's review his career so far, small block modified, took about a year starting winning regular, big block modified took about a year starting winning regular, world of outlaw late models, took about half a year, started winning regular. Chili Bowl, second time, started winning. I see a trend developing here.

However, Timmy is old for nascar standards...he's 28. He's had a couple of tests in nextel cup cars, which apparently went pretty well. However, he's old he's 28...blonde hair, good looking. Will someone please wake up and realize this guy is special, his dad was a winner and timmie is better than he was. Instead of using re-treds like Jeff which wall or car will i hit this week Green, why not give the ripe old 28 year old from Upstate New York a chance. Or how about this, instead of bringing in more road racers from south america, why don't cart or indy car give him a shot.

By the way, he's not bad in front of a microphone either.

It was over Dec. 27th. I said so then, no one believed me and then i got the we are in denial faction questioning me. Congratulations to Steve Harper and the Conservatives for winning the January 23rd election, by not doing anything wrong. By not messing up, Harper's party was able to distance itself from the Liberals who cant seem to do anything right.

The income trust investigation was the final straw for joe and josephine canadian. They were going to let the sponsorship thing drop but the liberals were on the double super secret probation with canadians and whether it turns out to be true or not, the damage is done. It is over.

Of course, the liberals are now well on their way to kim campbell type destruction. News flash, this just in war room liberal, mike harris is the most popular politican in 416 and 905 area codes to this day. Each time he came from behind to whomp liberals in provincial elections. So what do you do with your campaign ad, attack him. Duh.

Let's all hope some of the people with some actual ability are the ones elected as tories, jason kenney as minister of anything scares the heck out of me. He's the guy that brought us stock day. Bad visual.

O Canada

Is there anything, and I mean anything that brings this country together faster than a hockey team. Think about it, no matter what the politicans try to do, a hockey team can make us feel good about everything again in a few hours.

There is nothing more satisfying and spine tingling for a Canadian than to hear our best athletes singing the national anthem after yet another gold medal. It's even better when we beat the Russians on the scoreboard and physically with a team that all the experts said wasn't good enough. That underdog role is something that Canadians love and when it's accomplished makes it as sweet as a cold doctor pepper.

Thanks to our World Junior team for reminding us how great a country we are. How much we love the game of hockey and reminding the world that yes, we are still the best and one more thing thanks for bringing us all together to cheer you on once again.

I love junior hockey. The London Knights were my heroes as a kid, Darryl Sittler was my idol. I still like the Knights and players like Rob Schempf even though i can't seem to spell his name right today for some reason.

Rob and his Team USA teammates are little surprised that fans out in Vancouver have been booing them especially against russia at the world juniors this week. I think it's time for a little history lesson about relations with our best friend right now. You know how every once in awhile you feel like even your best friend takes you for granted and then does some things to peeve you off. That in a nutshell is why Canada is booing.

In BC, thousands of dollars, and man hours of work have been lost over the softwood lumber dispute, that keeps going to indepedent atributrators who keep saying Canada doesn't subsidize its lumber. The US keeps disagreeing and the losers are little towns across BC in particular because they have to pay staggering duties to ship the softwood across the border even though its badly needed because of all the hurricane damage.

Then there's the little issue of having the US team's best defenseman try to take the head off of Canada's Steve Downie, who by the way the rest of the ohl likes to boo whenever it has the chance. If that elbow had of connected the way it was meant, there would be another bertuzzi case.

Which brings us to round 3. Vancouver hockey fans feel Todd Betuzzi has gotten a raw deal from us media in particular. You pile these things together and there is some ill will towards robbie and his teammates in those red, white and blue uniforms. Other than that defenseman, its not personal guys, we're just in a little snit about the way we are being treated right now and like best friends do, we will work it out. When push comes to shove on the important things like saving hostages in Iran, or letting planes land on 9-11 your best friend will continue to be there for you.

Hello, world

Steve from Ottawa, former radio guy, feeling the need to express his own opinions, instead of sitting back and getting mad at the so called experts. By experts, i mean mostly traditional journalists, who feel the need to get involved in things they should be reporting somewhere close to the middle about.

Today, i went through my morning media browse and was struck by one thing as we get closer to this election thing here in Canada, the lack of loyalty. Im one of the few Canadians that always admired Shiela Copps for instance, i was always struck about her passion for the country. Now the decisions she made might be questioned, but i always thought her heart was in the right place. Now, i understand that the Pm's advisors have basically ruined her career and all that stuff, but she always talked about how important the party was and all that good stuff. Now, when that party needs her the most, she's using the opportunity to exact revenge.

Same with Kinsella, it was okay for him to step on martin's people's toes when he was helping chretien but when the tables are turned it's not. I'm leaving and every chance i get to punch you in the mouth i will, is basically what he's saying to the party that made him famous.

The biggest problem for the Liberals right now might actually be the lack of loyalty combined with the fact that it's not what's best for Canada it's what's best for them personally.
