Michigan vs. Ohio State

Enough all ready, can we just play the game now. This year, i've become a bigger and bigger fan of ncaa football. The cable package i get throws it in for free, and i'm really enjoying the thursday night big east games in particular. My son and I have also gone down the highway to Syracuse for a couple of tilts as the CFL and The glibergoofs left us without out team this season and for the forseeable future.

I grew up as a staunch Michigan supporter with a rabid hate for Ohio State. Alot of that came from listening to wjr detroit as a youngster. The Wolverines have provided me with some proud moments over the years and hopefully tomorrow will be another one as they play for a spot in the ncaa championship game. Ohio State has the better offense, but ill take the michigan defense anyday. Which in my mind leaves this game from a Michigan point of view of Steve Creston, if he breaks a punt or kickoff return they win, if he doesnt well...yikes

ESPN has had a countdown clock on this game for a week, big time overkill. Will the game measure up to its hype, probably not. Regardless, i think you can make a pretty good case that these two teams should play again for the title because quite frankly, they are the only two teams that have really earned the right. I might change my mind if Rutgers runs the table, or this game tomorrow is a blowout, but i doubt either will happen.

Go blue.

Ottawa, the small minded

The city of Ottawa prides itself on being this great salad bowl of different cultures and beliefs that lives together and gets along for the most part. After Monday's municipal election, its clear that while residents think that, nothing could be further from the truth.

The reality is Ottawa is just as hungup on stereotypes as any other large, medium or small community in the country. Ottawa was heading towards electing the first openly gay mayor of a major city in Canada two weeks ago. Then all of sudden, things shifted and Larry O Brien went from a close second in a three way race to a landslide winner.

I know all that crap about momentum in politics and all that kind of thing, but here's the real truth. Ottawa woke up Monday morning and asked itself the question, do we really want a gay mayor. It was that simple, it wasnt about the o train, mass transit, balanced budgets, no tax increases, it was do we want the gay guy running the show.

Suddenly, the incumbent mayor's votes from third place all went to the same place, Mr. O Brien rather than Alex Munter's way. Yes, Ottawa is just as backwards in its thinking as the rest of North America after all.

Sorry George,

Memo to the President, you messed up. It's refreshing to see our neighbours to the south with some hope again. The people of the us overhauling their government is very empowering for all of us.

Now aside from the giddy democrats, with power pulsing through their veins for the first time since Bill left the big white house, there is a chance some questions will have to be answered. How the heck are the americans going to get out of iraq, are they going to come back to afganistan and help us hold the fort because the chicken french sure arent helping. Can we get this passport-border card fiasco decided once and for all.

Im hoping for answers to those kind of questions and this additional one, will this stop idiot republicans from their stupid claims that the canadian border is a problem. See, George the key to dealing with other nations is not to blame them for everyone you did wrong, it gets their back up. Hi democrats good to see ya...by the way, there is one american who had it right all along, Howard Dean, and where does he live, in vermont of course where they think like Canadians.
